Well I agree that you should start with notepad++, but I will give you my input. If you want to have many plugins/options i.e: Android, go with eclipse, however, I use Netbeans because it looks better to me. So if you only want to program for computers, i'd say go with NetBeans, but if you want to program for Android or IOS, or anything of the like, Eclipse would probably be the way to go.
